Fired Earth helps ultra-cool B&B win tourism gold

A top-flight guesthouse offering boutique hotel chic defined by its five sumptuous Fired Earth bathrooms
has won a prestigious tourism award.Classic Wood Flooring

Lower End House, just outside the village of Pershore in Worcestershire, has been given the highest award for guest accommodation –   a five-star gold, one of only 58 in the UK.

Believed to be one of the oldest houses in the county, Lower End House is the guest accommodation for the award-winning Eckington Manor Cookery School, which features 10 fully equipped cooking stations centered around Aga, Falcon or Rangemaster range cookers.

Each of the five en-suite bedrooms at Lower End House is unique and has been lovingly restored and decorated to preserve more than 500 years of character while providing today’s modern luxuries. The bathrooms have been beautifully appointed using a range of products from Fired Earth. There are two bedrooms featuring either double or twin beds, one bedroom with twin beds, and two rooms with single beds. The single rooms share a large en-suite bathroom.Tarn Bowl

Lower End House – which has been open just 12 months – has been affectionately refurbished by Eckington Manor owner Judy Gardner and her team. The ultra-cool B&B eclectically mixes the contemporary with old-world charm.

Log-burning stoves, a beautifully-appointed kitchen complete with Aga and Aga fridge, crisp white linen and a sofa that once graced Windsor Castle are just some of the touches that make a stay at Lower End House special. And that commitment extends to each of the stunning Fired Earth bathrooms.

Wychavon Tourism Officer Angela Tidmarsh said: “This is a hugely-prestigious award for Lower End House and is completely well-deserved. It underlines the fact that Worcestershire is increasingly becoming a top destination for a weekend break. Lower End House offers boutique-hotel style chic with a rural twist…”
