Inspired by the London Underground and set to become a design classic in their own right, tiles in Fired Earth’s new Metropolitan range are informed by some of the beautifully tiled walls in the Tube’s 270 stations.

The tiles – part of Fired Earth’s new Tile Basics diffusion line – are named after stations in which their colour appears.

Available in square and rectangular formats, each range has a coordinating dado moulding. Utterly chic and perfect for today’s home.

With a choice of eight colours – all of which take their inspiration from London’s Underground system – and three formats, the new Metropolitan range looks set to be hugely popular. The tiles are ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms in any style of home, with prices starting at just 85p per tile.

Tiles for every budget

The Tile Basics diffusion line comprises 100 tiles, with wall tiles starting at £30 per m² and floor tiles from £20 per m².

Andalucia Hand – decorated in Tunisia and inspired by the colours of the southern Mediterranean, these authentic tiles are painted by craftsmen, so each is subtly different. Prices start at 58p per tile or £54.70 per m².

Piazza Limestone Made from Portuguese limestone, the stone is fossilized, enhancing the natural beauty. Colour varies from pale grey to a warmer light gold. Can be used on walls and floors. At 45.7 x 45.7cm, the tiles are £8.25 each or £39.59 per m².

Retro Metro A modern, versatile, contemporary (yet with a 1920s feel) series of subtly coloured, rectangular tiles with London Underground dimensions and combining elegant simplicity with a touch of ‘seen life’ texture. Ideal for bathrooms. Utility rooms and showers. Prices start at 73p per tile or £64.11 per m².
