I come from a background in Fine Art gaining an Honours degree in Fine Art and Related Arts before I went on to study Interior Design. I have been designing for Fired Earth customers for over eight years. I believe good design is the successful amalgamation of practicality and aesthetics. It is important to gain detailed knowledge of a customer"s likes, dislikes, style preferences and often personal habits or way of using a space, to allow me to design a space which is tailored to their needs and wants.

I have a background in Fashion Design, and moved into interiors six years ago. I have been designing full time for Fired Earth for the past two years and I have just completed building a new three bed house on the edge of Dartmoor.

I enjoy working with clients on both contemporary and traditional design projects. My own style is contemporary, clean lined, with fresh colours, mixed with artefacts collected from overseas travels.

I have four years formal training in interior and exterior design, five years as an in house designer and over two years designing for Fired Earth. I combine design and communication skills to create the ultimate desired design solution to any space. Great design is about how the space makes someone feel. My client should therefore feel that they have been part of the design process from the start.

I understand the importance not only of good design that is aesthetically pleasing, but also about tackling the technical practicalities to achieve the perfect environment to cope with a full range of activities, age groups and lifestyles.

At college I studied Art at A Level and the Art of Architecture. Having worked at Fired Earth for over 10 years now, I have a wealth of experience designing both Bathrooms and Kitchens. Travelling to many different countries around the world is a great inspiration to my designs; I love nothing better than strolling around different cities lapping up the views, great architecture and seeking out beautiful interior decoration.

I have gained firsthand knowledge and technical skills from being involved with my own personal renovation projects over the years. This has been an invaluable experience which has given me the tools and scope to carry out my role as a Home Design Consultant.

Forward planning is, for me, the key to great designing. Making customers dreams and aspirations a reality is what gives me most pleasure working as a designer.

Having studied Interior Design for three years before graduation I am extremely passionate about my subject and the entire range of Fired earth products.

Working at Fired Earth has taught me many things, not least, how to understand what my clients needs and aspirations are in relation to their living space. Every space has its own feel and ambience, created from a blend of many different elements - colour, pattern, texture, light and space.

By drawing on my design skills and extensive product knowledge, I try to ensure my clients experience a design process that will not only match their expectations but exceed them.
