One of the world's finest luxury hotels, Cliveden underwent a sixteen month renovation program and is now restored to its former glory. This grand stately home is set in the heart of the the Berkshire countryside. surrounded by over 370 acres of magnificent National Trust managed Grade I listed formal gardens. One of the most beautiful cottages on the Thames, Spring Cottage was originally built as a secluded summerhouse and takes its name from the spring that emerges from the nearby cliffs. The Duchess of Sutherland had it extended in the 1870's and turned it into accommodation the cottage you see today. This little haven of pastoral bliss became the centre of a violent political storm in the early '60's. It was here that Stephen Ward and Christine Keeler were staying when they triggered the infamous Profumo scandal. As part of the upgrading of the main house and cottage, Fired Earth was asked to help redesign a bathroom at Spring Cottage, a project we were delighted to be part of.
