Zellige has retained its’ ancient tile making process, small imperfections such as tiny cracks and chips are characteristic of Zellige tiles and their rustic nature and are not considered a fault.
Zellige tiles are hand moulded and hand cut meaning no two Zellige tiles are the same. Each tile is unique in colour, texture, size as they are produced by hand showing the true authenticity of the Zellige tiles.
Zellige glaze colours vary from tile to tile, these variations are the result of the traditional hand glazing methods used. It is possible that the tiles you receive will be slightly different from the sample or displays shown in your local showrooms and is part of the beauty of Zellige.
Always blend tiles before installation – never install Zellige tiles directly from the box – we suggest you unbox and lay out all the tiles first and blend them exactly as you would like to see them with even distribution of colour and imperfections.
Due to the high variation in colour and texture of our handmade Zellige tiles we strongly encourage sampling more than 1 piece to get a sense of the true characteristics and variation.
Our standard guidance for tile cuts, breakages, future repairs is 10% overage, however, should your project require a less authentic look without the natural imperfections of Zellige, we suggest you increase to 20% overage to allow you to cherry-pick the tiles.
Please note if you place a mixed order of products these will be shipped as normal, and you will receive the Zellige delivery separately when it is in stock.
