Porcelain Tiles
Porcelain tiles are one of the most enduring choices you can make for your home. Dense, durable and beautifully made, they bring a calm confidence that suits a period kitchen just as naturally as a considered contemporary bathroom.
At Fired Earth, we choose each tile for its depth of colour, surface character and lasting suitability. Porcelain fires at exceptionally high temperatures, making it denser and less porous than ceramic. So it handles staining, moisture and everyday wear without fuss, and without sacrificing beauty.
Our white porcelain tiles are among the most versatile we offer. They work in a bright hallway, a calm bathroom or a kitchen that earns its keep. But the range goes further: warm stones, softly textured neutrals and rich earthy tones, each chosen with the same care.

Frequently Asked Questions
Porcelain tiles are an excellent choice for bathroom floors. They resist water well, need little maintenance and come in a wide range of finishes. For wet areas and shower floors, check the tile suitability of your chosen tile to keep things safe underfoot.
Porcelain is a denser, harder form of ceramic. We fire it at higher temperatures, making it less porous and more durable. It's a better fit for high-traffic areas and wet rooms. Ceramic is lighter and easier to cut, making it a good option for walls and floors with lighter use.
White porcelain tiles are easy to look after. They resist staining well and respond to mild, pH-neutral cleaning products. Avoid anything abrasive. Keep grout lines properly sealed and you'll maintain that clean look for years.
Larger formats, such as 600x600mm or above, can make a small room feel more open. Fewer grout lines create an uninterrupted visual flow. A 300x600mm format works well too, giving you proportion without overwhelming the space.
Porcelain tiles work well with underfloor heating. Their density conducts and holds heat effectively, making them an efficient and comfortable choice. Always confirm tile and adhesive compatibility with your installer, and allow for expansion joints during installation.
