Spring interior refreshes

Spring interior refreshes

As the days grow longer and the light floods in many of us want to freshen up our homes and get them ready for a new season.

Paint, paint, paint

The quickest and cheapest way to change up an interior is with paint. It’s amazingly effective at changing the feel of a space and you don’t even need to paint an entire room. You could, for example, add a dado rail and paint the wall underneath it in a colour you love, as seen in this kitchen with a half-blue wall. The tiles on the floor (which are from our Odyssey collection) add to the light and airy feel.

Another technique that works well is to blend a room with paint. Choosing the same colour for walls and woodwork creates a streamlined effect and can add a contemporary twist. We love shelves and walls in the same colour too, as seen here in our fresh Celadon shade.

Think Pink

A real feelgood colour, pink is the perfect spring refresher. Depending on how pink you want to go, you can go for an almost white paint with just a hint of the palest rose shade – such as our Manna Ash colour – or go all out with an entirely pink shower, such as the one seen here using our Copenhagen Pink penny round tiles.

Introduce Pattern

Floors covered in patterned tiles are often reminiscent of gorgeous holiday destinations. And there’s no reason we can’t bring that feeling home and have summer all year round.

Urban

Tiles such as our Urban Callizo range work particularly well with white walls, natural wood, and greenery to give a fresh, sunshine-infused feel.

Green Forecast

Another way to create depth and pattern is to use a glazed tile and lay it in an interesting pattern – herringbone or basketweave work particularly well – and add in a surprising colour. Our Forecast Rockall tiles, seen here against rich pink cabinetry, work particularly well to give the feeling of spring.

Choose your palette

Blue and white is a classic combination that always looks fresh.

A Delft tiled splashback in a plain, white room works wonderfully as a quick style update or why not mix and match our new Copenhagen penny rounds in contrasting colours for a statement-making look?

Add a splash of brass in the form of taps and you have a pulled-together look.

Go for green

Another great style update is green. It’s having a huge moment right now as we are in love with all things natural. Pairing green and cream paint offers a soft modern look and adding in some tiles from our Botanical range, with their nature-inspired designs, will add a fresh, spring-like feel.
